Wellsford AFC Code of Conduct
Harassment, including sexual or racial harassment, is unwelcome, unsolicited and unreciprocated behaviour by a person or group that may offend, humiliate or intimidate another. Harassment can take many forms including oral, written, physical or other non-verbal forms. Such behaviours are considered harassment when they are repeated of such a significant nature threat they have a detrimental effect on the recipient's ability to engage in normal activities within the club environment.
Posting/ commenting on Social Media in an inflammatory manner within a public forum using anecdotes, images or activities involving Wellsford A.F.C. is not permitted and may result in termination of your membership. There are correct channels to follow to settle any conflict or dispute and defaming the club or engaging in behaviour that impacts negatively on the children/players/volunteers will not be tolerated.
Damage to facilities and/ or equipment will not be tolerated.
Offensive behaviour or language is not allowed. Respect yourself and others around you.
If a complaint is made, Wellsford A.F.C. will ensure allegations are responded to promptly and all parties will be treated fairly.

Players Code of Conduct
Plays by the rules – the rules are set out by the Club and Laws of the Game.
Never argue with a referee or other official, without these people you can’t play
Control your temper – verbal abuse of officials and abusing other players doesn’t help you enjoy or win any games. We have a zero tolerance in this regard.
Be a team player – It’s a team game, treat it that way.
Treat all players as you would like to be treated – fairly.
Cooperate with your coach, the referee and your teammates.
Play for your own enjoyment and to improve your skills.
Show true sportsmanship and fair play whether you win, lose or draw a game.
Parent and Supporters Code of Conduct
Lead by example and respect all players, coaches, referees, and spectators – physical or verbal abuse will not be tolerated.
Ensure that children understand this code of conduct and expect them to abide by those rules.
Encourage participation but don’t force it.
Teach that trying your hardest and enjoying the game is more important than winning.
Never ridicule mistakes or losses – supporters are there to support not downgrade.
Remember that you are there for the participants to enjoy the game.
Recognise all volunteers who are giving up their time.
Never publicly criticise referees, club officials or Wellsford A.F.C. – raise concerns with club officials privately or follow the complaints process here
Show true sportsmanship and fair play no matter the result of the game.
By registering with Wellsford A.F.C. you agree to abide by these principles. This includes supporting Wellsford A.F.C. on taking on any necessary disciplinary actions where warranted of any players, parents and/or spectators for repeated or serious breaches of the Code of Conduct.
